Our Privacy

The Nakashima Foundation (the “Foundation”) has established the following Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) to protect your personal information, and we will handle your personal information appropriately by the Policy. The meanings of terms used in this Policy are defined by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.

1. Collection of personal information

The Foundation will obtain personal information properly, without deception or other unlawful means, after informing you of the purpose for which it will be used.

2. How we use your personal data

The Foundation will use personal information to the extent necessary to achieve the following purposes.

If personal information is to be used for purposes not listed below, the Foundation will only do so with the prior consent of the individual.

  • To receive, order, ship, and process products and services.
  • To provide information about events, various products, services, etc., and sales promotion.
  • To develop, propose, and provide information on various products and services based on analysis of website browsing history, application usage history, etc.
  • To respond to requests and consultations and to send materials.
  • To fulfill obligations and exercise rights in connection with transactions.
  • To receive and respond to information on the correct use, quality, safety, and effectiveness of products and services.
  • To gather information necessary for business purposes, provide products and services, communicate, etc.
  • To consider and decide whether to accept or reject applicants for employment and to contact them.
  • To comply with labor management and other labor laws and regulations, tax laws and regulations, and social welfare laws and regulations, including business communications, attendance management, payment of wages, reimbursement of expenses, appropriate staffing, personnel evaluation, skills development, welfare benefits, and health and safety, etc.

3. Providing your personal data to others

  • Cases in which the provision of personal data is necessary for cooperating with an academic research organization, etc., and the third party needs to process the material for scholarly research purposes (including where part of the purpose of the processing is for academic research purposes unless there is a risk of unjustified infringement of the rights and interests of individuals).
  • Other cases in which the provision of personal data is based on laws and regulations

In following the cases, the individual or the Foundation receiving such personal data shall not be deemed a third party for the purpose of application of the provisions of the preceding three paragraphs:

  • Cases in which the foundation handling personal information entrusts the handling of personal data in whole or in part within the scope necessary for the achievement of the Purpose of Utilization.
  • Cases in which personal data is provided as a result of the succession of business in a merger or otherwise.
  • Cases in which personal data is used jointly between specific individuals or entities and in which this fact, the items of the personal data used jointly, the scope of the joint users, the purpose for which the personal data is used by them, and the name of the individual or business operator responsible for the management of the personal data is, in advance, notified to the person or put in a readily accessible condition for the person.

4. Cookies that we use

The Foundation uses cookies to improve customer service and to deliver and promote advertisements for the Foundation’s products.
