The Nakashima Memorial Foundation was established on October 28, 2013, to carry on the wishes of my father, the late Tamotsu Nakashima, honorary chairman of Nakashima Holdings. The foundation’s business activities include supporting international students studying in Okayama Prefecture and providing grants to sports teams based in Okayama Prefecture. During his lifetime, honorary president Tamotsu Nakashima continues his efforts to contribute to international exchange and local sports. In the future, we would like to further promote these activities beyond the framework of a single company and make them permanent social contribution activities.

Currently, globalization is progressing in the world, and the importance of people-to-people exchanges with other countries is only increasing. Under these circumstances, the purpose of providing scholarships to international students is to encourage students to study abroad within Japan and Okayama Prefecture. If the number of talented international students increases, local companies will benefit in terms of human resources and information as they expand globally. Furthermore, supporting local teams through sports promotion and assisting them in achieving successful results will not only help to raise the profile of Okayama Prefecture, but will also foster a sense of unity among prefectural residents and provide dreams to local children.
